Shri 1008 Bhagwan Mahaveer Digambar Jin Mandir Pradhikaran Nagadi

Shri 1008 Bhagwan Mahavir Jin Mandir is standing in great splendour for the last 32 years at Pradhikaran as the grand message of truth and non-violence to all.

Many Jain families from all over the country have come to Udyog Nagari (Pimpri Chinchwad Corporation) for employment. They had a means of living but there was no place to worship. There was a strong need and desire to have our own temple. While there was this need, how to fulfil it was a major question.

During the decade of 1990s, lot of youth who came from Kolhapur, Sangli and other parts of the country, confronted the same issue acutely. And some religious and sincere youth decided to build a temple. The efforts started from 1990. Searching for a place was not easy in this industrial area. The team studied how other temples were built in Pradhikaran  and decided to follow similar path. This culminated into the final decision of constructing a temple in Feb 1992.

Construction of a small temporary temple was done in the same year, on the eve of Gudi Padava (5.4.1992). And for the first time the Mahavir Jayanti was celebrated in our own premises which continued through the years.

The temple was built on the occasion of Gudi Padava with a small statue of Bhagawan Mahavira made out of plaster of paris. A fabricated Spire (Shikhar) measuring 6’x 6’ at the base was used. The five-coloured flag (panchrangi), was hoisted on top of the spire as a symbol of Jainism. It was very small and simple but it rejuvenated the spirits of the entire community.

On 15 April 1992, for the first time the Mahavir Jayanti was celebrated in our own premises which continued through the years. Digambar Muni 108 Dhawalsagarji visited  first time week's stay in Pradhikaran. and like a religious influence. Very Small Temple , Gound (large open space) fence around the gymnaandsium on one side, Requested to Municipal Corporation to remove the fence and replace it with a stone wall that would be suitable for the gymnasium as well. Municipal Corporation immediately responded and completed the same.Municipal Gymnasium was renamed as “ Bh Bahubali Gymnasium “and Bh. Bharat Tanius Court. Also renamed total open space as “ Mahaveer Park.” Officialy by PCMC Municipal Corporation on record. The joy of the society was multiplied

While doing all this. faced with many obstacles, but understanding our test, we passed each exam 1 Today I feel that we have passed in every aspect that God has given us.

Our efforts were financially successful only because of the work of God from the political / social organization. We can never forget his contribution to our society.

During the celebration of Bhagwan Mahavir Jayanti first time  in 1992(In our own premises), we had decided to conduct religious/social and patriotic programs as part of the trust objectives. A part of this, on 16th July 1992, with the help of the Municipal Corporation, a tree plantation program was taken up. Seedlings planted 30 years ago have now grown into big trees and are surrounding the temple in pride. While doing this, the team was planning and collecting funds to convert the temporary temple into a permanent structure. The funds and the temple also grew along with the trees. The temple has now emerged into a large, beautiful holy place. It is now attracting a large number of devotees. The effort has satiated the thirst and need of thousands of devotees.

We are continuously organizing social welfare programs as per the principles/ preaching of Bhagawan Mahavir, for the sake of the community including blood donation, eye donation camps, tree plantation, distribution of essentials to needy on the occasion of Indian Independence and Republic day year after year.

The temple took its final shape around 2009 with the completion of civil work. During 2009 and 2013 the entire finishing work including marble flooring and other marble work was completed. Around the same time, the “manstambh” and the idol of Bahgavan Mahaveer was being crafted in Jaipur. In 2013, major aesthetic work was completed and the idol was ready as well. The next step was to install (Pranpratishta) of the idol.  The temple / community had the unique opportunity to celebrate the  “chaturmas” of 2013 in the holy presence of Shri. PP 108  Pranamsagar ji maharaj. With his guidance we planned and carried out the Pranpratishta/ Panchkalynak mahostav. It was planned so thoughtfully and in a grand manner that it turned out to be one of the guiding examples for temples across the country.  It is looked up by the community as a leading example to learn from.

During the past few years, starting around 2015, we embarked on couple unique and important programs.  To help the new and young people coming to Pune/Pimpri Chnicwad for education of job, we started a cell. Staring with a simple concept of a dropbox in the temple where the seekers could approach for education and occupational help, we established a formal organization called Jain Engineers and Gradates Association (JEGA).

Another major initiative was a Cycle Rally with an aim to spread the message of Non-violence and environmental protection.  Number of such rallies were arranged over years to places such as Shikharji, Mangi Tungi, Girnar and Shravan Belgola.

As the word spread about the creation of the temple, Pratishtapana ceremony, and several social activities of the Trust, it was also recognized and honoured by many. The then President of India, Ms. Pratibhatai Patil honoured the trust for its work. This was also noticed by Gyanmati Mataji who presented a 11 feet tall and beautiful idol of Bhagavan Vrishabhdev. It was installed in the year 2022 on the occasion of Dasera. The Pranpratishtha ceremony of the idol is planned in December 2024 in the holy presence of Yugal Muniji Amoghkirti and Amarkirti Maharaj ji.
